Argentera / Must do

Argentera, highest district in the Valley, located at the foot of the long series of hairpin turns that lead to the “Colle della Maddalena” (the pass which connects the valley with France), offers many possibilities for excursions, both on the right and on the left on the orographic left of the valley as well as in the side valleys. The most interesting have as their starting point the hamlet of Bersezio, Ferrere, Pinardo, the state capital and the Colle della Maddalena, and offer the visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in extraordinary high mountain sceneries rich in animal and plant biodiversity, to discover interesting remains of Alpine military architecture, curious rocky conformations (“Becco Rosso”, La Tortissa peaks) lakes (Vens, Roburtent, Lauzanier lakes, Oserot lake) and enjoy wide views of the upper valley.
Argentera is very well known and frequented by alpine skiing enthusiasts. In fact, the valley is the home of an important ski resort which, with about 20 km of slopes immersed in a dense firs and larches forest in an endless alpine environment, attracts countless skiers every year, especially freeriders and snowboarders.
