Rittana / Must do

Located in the homonymous side valley which branches off at Gaiola in the lower Stura Valley, consisting of about 40 hamlets, Rittana offers numerous hiking opportunities, many of which can also be feasible in autumn and winter, which lead to particularly panoramic destinations. A simple path, suitable for everyone, starts from the locality Chit Rosa, near the Gorrè hamlet, crosses Paraloup, a town of great historical importance, renovated through an innovative architectural project, and leads to the top of the Rittana Alp, a rounded grassy peak, a village symbolic mountain, which rises on the watershed between the Stura and Grana valleys and from which you can enjoy one of the widest views that reserve the mountains of Cuneo.

The Rittana territory is affected by some of the routes of the Bike Park Tajarè, an interesting project to enhance the cycling touristic routes composed of 6 itineraries now, of different difficulty levels, that cross the 5 districts of the lower Valley (Gaiola, Moiola, Roccasparvera, Valloriate and Rittana) for a total of 120 km of roads and trails, a reference point for mountain bikers.

The draio de l’Estelo (The Way of the Star) is a path intended to connect the Sanctuary of S. Mauro di Rittana with that of S. Lucio di Coumboscuro, which passes through the Quiot Rosa and Paraloup. Its particularity is given by the presence of works of art that are permanently placed along the route. Through accompanied and animated visits it will be possible to meet not only art but also nature, agro-forestry-pastoral work and the places of the Resistance. Along the path, the preparation of the work by Rudi Punzo entitled "Boschetto di cicicale" was completed near the Pisai 'd Masarin (the Mazzarino waterfall), just upstream of the town.
